Canberra CBD Limited will run a week of celebrations in the city, with trick or treating, storytelling and a costume parade curated by the ‘You Are Here’ creators to be the main features.
Canberra CBD Limited CEO Jane Easthope says Halloween is becoming an increasingly popular event in Australia.
“We thought Halloween in the City would be a great way to join in on the fun,” she says.
A Zombie Walk will also be held on Saturday November 2 and involves participants dressing as zombies and the undead, who then will limp, shuffle and walk through the city. Participants will be walking to raise money and awareness for the Brain Foundation.
Ms Easthope says local traders are also getting on board with decorated shop fronts, Halloween themed food specials and the hosting of Halloween themed events and costume parties with great prizes.
Participating businesses will be listed on the Canberra CBD Limited website.
Halloween in the City will run from Monday 28 October to Sunday 3 November.
