ACTING on a tip-off, police searched a house in Greenway yesterday afternoon and found what they believe to be several cannabis plants, dried cannabis and equipment that could be used to sell the drug.
As a result, a 51-year-old woman will now be summonsed to ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
According to police, officers seized a 1.8-metre tall mature cannabis plant and three other plants that were partly harvested, as well as about 2 kg of dried cannabis, small clip-seal bags and digital scales.
The material is yet to be analysed and confirmed as cannabis.
South District Acting Superintendent Daryl Neit said the bust was a direct result of information provided to Crime Stoppers, and encouraged more people with “information about suspicious people or behaviour” to come forward.
“They can be assured that police do analyse the details and at times where enough information has been provided, we are able to act,” Acting Superintendent Neit said.
