Elderly pedestrian hit by motorbike

AN elderly man has been hospitalised after he was struck by a motorcycle while walking into oncoming traffic in Higgins yesterday evening. 

Around 7.15pm, the 71-year-old Calwell man was crossing Kingsford Smith Drive when he stepped from the centre median strip into oncoming traffic and was struck by the motorcycle.

The man was transported to The Canberra Hospital due to his injuries. The 26-year-old motorcycle rider from Flynn suffered minor injuries.
