CANBERRANS love a free concert, so the National Film and Sound Archive was quick to alert us to one coming up as part of the Australasian Sound Recordings Association’s conference, running at the archive from October 23-25.The program for the conference will include papers by researchers, archivists, collectors, oral historians, academics, broadcasters and experts from the audiovisual industries.
The free Alice Moyle Lecture will be presented by ANU academic Steven Wanta Jampijinpa Patrick, a Warlpiri elder from Lajamanu in the Tanami Desert. His topic is: “Speak the Land and the Land will Speak Back: Country as a living archive of Yapa knowledge”.
