Thrills without the spills as snapper turns Hero

“CITY News” snapper-to-the-stars SILAS BROWN abandoned the soft life of the paparazzi for a bit of thrill seeking on Friday night at the Royal Canberra Show.

He was invited to join precision driver Dave Shannon for the ride of lifetime with the Isuzu Team D-MAX, four of Australia’s top drivers performing a range of high-speed drifting, nose-to-nose driving, reverse hand break turn flicks, and high speed crossovers.

“I got some shots from inside the car while it is doing a lap on two wheels,” he reports.

“We were in a brand-new car that Dave hadn’t driven before!”

Other highlights of the Isuzu Team D-MAX performance include a 12-metre ramp-to-ramp jump.

The stunt vehicles have modified suspension and exhaust systems, and 16-inch alloy wheels, 3.0i Turbo Diesel, tailored with racing seats, racing harnesses, as well as a safety roll cage.

Once Silas had reassembled his stomach, he headed off for the comparatively benign fun of the fair and filed this lovely pictorial essay of one of Canberra’s iconic events.
