IN a new show, “Heartbeat”, members of Marsden Arts Group explore personal memories and responses to the idea of the human beating heart.Individual interpretations look to the heartbeat of the body, the heartbeat of emotions and sensations, and the heartbeat found in the general pulse of life and community.
The group, established in 2002, is a community group of mixed-media artists who meet once a month at M16 Artspace in Griffith who meet regularly to share work-in-progress and to support and encourage each other to make good art and enjoy the process. The idea is to create a dynamic environment in which to create new and exciting artworks to put on public view and the group exhibits at least once a year. They have a monthly topic for inspiration which can be followed, or not, “as we choose”, the artists say.
