Helping George with his jungle playgound

THE George Gregan Foundation is this year’s recipient of Thursday’s Maxim Chartered Accountants Tennis Invitational Charity Day. The funds raised will assist in the construction of an adventure playground designed with a jungle theme at the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital at the Canberra Hospital.

“In our charity selection interview, we could see how passionate George was about what his foundation does and his vision for this project, ” said Maxim partner Mark Peatey.

“We know this playground will be a wonderful environment for kids to take their minds off the situation they are in. This charity day is to help Canberrans with local projects – and it’ll be great to see George back in his hometown.

Australian Open commentator and Aussie tennis legend John Fitzgerald will assist in the tournament at the Forrest Tennis Club, Dominion Circuit, and participate in fundraising on the day.

The Maxim Invitational started in 2011 raising $40,000 for the Starlight Foundation. Last year it raised $100,000 for the Oasis Youth Centre.

“The George Gregan Foundation needs a further $350,000 to build the amazing jungle playground. Maxim wants to help by raising in the vicinity of $100,000,” said Mr Peatey.

Maxim’s major sponsor for the Invitational is Harvey Norman Commercial Divison. Other donors and sponsors include:

Amalgamated Property Group, APIS, BISA Property, BLOC, CIC, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Construction Control,

Doma Group, DZ Designs, Embrace Orthodontics, Farrar Gesini and Dunn, Independent Property Group, Infinite Networks,

Instyle Plant Hire, Kazar Slaven, Meyer Vandenberg Lawyers, Molonglo Group, Rolfe Classic BMW, The Mark Agency and Rubicon.
