GLAMOUR, stunt shows, music and birthday celebrations will all combine at this year’s Kamberra Wine Company Black Opal Stakes Day in March.

The eight race program now includes four listed races: the $250,000 Kamberra Wine Company Black Opal Stakes; the $200,000 ACTTAB Canberra Centenary Cup; $100,000 Mercedes- Benz Canberra National Sprint; and the $100,000 Affinity Construction Management Canberra Guineas.

At the launch in Civic today, Chief Executive Peter Stubbs said this year’s event includes plenty of new attractions.

New Zealand band Evermore will perform in between races, and there’ll be a stunt show from The Girls Girls Girls Trick Riders.

A centenary marquee with a buffet luncheon and private bar will also be available to celebrate Canberra’s birthday year.

Mr Stubbs also announced Thoroughbred Park would donate $3,000 to tr0ubled charity Pegasus Riding for the Disabled, to help them reach their goal of $50,000 or more on the race day.

Previous Myer Face of Racing ambassadors Brittney McGlone and Natasha Roberts modelled the latest trends in racewear at the launch, with felt headwear, heavy fabrics, lace and pops of colour all favourites.
