Laura set to frock up on Sunday

ABOVE everything else, Myer ambassador Laura Dundovic has some vital fashion advice for ladies heading to the Black Opal this Sunday: keep the heels on.

“Don’t wear new shoes,” she warns.

“They’ll be uncomfortable to wear the whole day and you’ll end up taking them off – it’s just not a good look.”

Dundovic will judge the Myer fashions on the field at the Kamberra Wine Company Black Opal Stakes day for the fourth time in a row this year.

She says racing fashion in the capital gets “better and better.”

“I see Canberra as having that sort of classic look, with a nicely tailored jacket, lace or florals,” she says.

“I always really love seeing the looks the girls put together. This year I’m hoping to see a lot of peplum, florals and a hint of leather.”

Laura will join fashion designer Jayson Brunsdon on the judging panel for the fashions on the field, which will include a record $20,000 worth of prizes.

The day will also include a performance from Kiwi band Evermore and the Girls Girls Girls trick riding team will be in action.

Thoroughbred Park has brought together its four listed races for the day – the Black Opal (1200 metres), the $200,000 Canberra Centenary Cup (2000m), the National Sprint (1400m) and the Canberra Guineas (1400m).
