LIFELINE Canberra is opening its Bookfair warehouse in Mitchell, offering present-shopping on a shoestring, with its inaugural $2 book sale in support of its Christmas appeal.
Lifeline Canberra’s director of commercial operations and sustainability, Matt Heffernan, said the appeal would ensuring buyers have plenty of reading material for the annual pilgrimage to the coast. Proceeds from the event will go towards Lifeline Canberra’s telephone crisis support services.
“We saw the opportunity to offer the community high-quality reading material to keep the family occupied over the festive season, in a way which also allows them to give back to Lifeline,” he said.
Categories available include fiction, non-fiction and children’s books, along with vinyl records selling for as low as 50 cents.
The Warehouse Sale , 40 Heffernan Street, Mitchell, 9am-4pm, Saturday, December 14.
