Man escapes knife-wielding muggers

A lucky man escaped unharmed from three muggers who threatened him with a knife at Kingston Oval last night.

According to police, three men approached the man, grabbed the front of his shirt and threatened him with a knife.  They made a number of demands but the victim was able to get away when the offenders let go of him.

The man was not hurt and nothing was stolen from him.

Police are seeking witnesses to the aggravated robbery, which occurred at about 8pm last night near the grandstand of Kingston Oval.

The first offender is described as Caucasian in appearance and approximately 25 to 45 years old with short brown hair and a “scraggly” beard, wearing a large hooded jumper and jeans.

The second offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 25 to 45 years old and 160cm (5’3”) in height, wearing a black baseball cap on backwards.

The third offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 25 to 45 years old and 170cm (5’7”) in height, wearing a baseball cap.
