A MAN will face court after allegedly assaulting a police officer on Saturday morning.
Around 1.30am officers saw a large group of men “behaving aggressively” in a Civic laneway.
The officers identified themselves and instructed the men to move back.
At this point a man quickly advanced on the officers and struck one of them in the side of the head.
In an attempt to subdue the man the second officer used Capsicum Spray and after a short struggle arrested the offender.
The officer received minor injuries as a result of the assault.
The man received Watch House bail and will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
