Mugging in Macquarie

A 40-year-old man was assaulted and robbed as he walked home from doing his grocery shopping at the Jamison Centre in Macquarie late last night.

Police afp cops-9984The man was walking home along Halloran Close near the Belconnen West Tennis Club at about 11pm when another man wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and dark pants hit him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The offender took the victim’s wallet from his rear pants pocket and then fled in the direction of Belconnen Way.
