One Direction mania comes to Canberra

THEY’VE well and truly taken over the pop world, and now Canberra will get its own slice of One Direction mania this month. One-Direction5

But while the hugely popular British boy band won’t be heading to to the capital just yet, the group’s official travelling merchandise store “1D World” will be.

The new, purpose-built “1D World” truck  – emblazoned with the pop idols’ image and logo – will stop at three Canberra McDonald’s restaurants from January 24-26 as part of its East-Coast road trip, which will finish up in Albury-Wodonga on January 28.

Hundreds of local fans are expected to stock up on a limited number of T-shirts, hoodies, posters, photo frames, phone covers and dolls ahead of the bands’ sold-out Australian tour later this year.

Perth’s recent “1D World” opening saw crowds of screaming “directioners” queuing for hours to grab their own piece of Harry, Zayn, Liam, Louis and Niall.

“1D World” Operations Manager Victoria Orford says she’s “looking forward to sharing the 1D World experience with local Directioners and adding some extra excitement these school holidays.”
