CANBERRA chamber opera company Stopera is presenting “Enchanting Operetta” at the Southern Cross Club in Woden on Sunday.Stopera, under the direction of Vivienne Winther, explores the wit and bluster of British music-hall, the old world romance and charm of Vienna, and the boulevarde humour of 19th century Paris are all captured in delightful music by the masters of operetta: Gilbert and Sullivan, Strauss, Lehár and Offenbach.
Singers Rebecca Collins, Rachael Duncan and Rohan Thatcher have performed with Opera Australia, Oz Opera, Opera Queensland and internationally in the UK, Germany and America.
They are all based in the ACT, where they are well-known to Canberra audiences for their many appearances at major events, including the Canberra International Music Festival, National Multicultural Festival, Stopera’s Opera by the Lake, and in concerts for Canberra Choral Society, National Gallery of Australia, The Llewellyn Choir and Artsong Canberra.
