Pizza delivery driver robbed at knifepoint

A PIZZA delivery driver was robbed at knifepoint last night in Wanniassa. 

About 9.30pm the driver was in his car on Byrne Street when a man appeared in front of him holding a 30cm knife to his stomach, demanding money.

The pizza delivery man handed over a small amount of money and a number of pizza boxes. The offender then fled on foot along a bike path adjacent to Byrne Street, Wanniassa.

The offender is described as around 22 years of age, 170cm (5’7”) tall and Caucasian in appearance. He was wearing a black balaclava or cloth over his face.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Anyone with information which can assist in identifying the man, or anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in Wanniassa last night should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
