A 22-year old man from Young was arrested in Wagga Wagga and brought to Canberra to face charges today over a string of thefts in late 2012.
The man is accused of stealing construction tools from vehicles belonging to tradespeople on numerous occasions, mainly in the Gungahlin area, over September and October last year
The thefts were investigated by Gungahlin police in conjuction with the ACT’s police intelligence unit, in an operation code-named Mara.
Police identified a “vehicle of interest” and made numerous inquiries in the ACT and surrounding regions, resulting in the extradition of the man following proceedings in Wagga Wagga Local Court this morning.
