Ram raid on Banks takeaway shop

POLICE are seeking witnesses after a Banks takeaway shop was ram raided early on Saturday morning.

Witness reports described two offenders running from the damaged shop on Pockett Avenue around 5.30am and getting in a car, which then drove quickly away.

The vehicle was described as a small four-door hatchback, possibly dark green or blue in colour.

No cash was left in the premises overnight, and any stolen property is yet to be determined.

Police searched the area and around 20 minutes later a small car was reported on fire at the Point Hut Crossing carpark. It is yet to be determined whether this vehicle is linked to the ram raid.

Any witnesses may have seen or heard any suspicious behaviour in the Banks area at the time of the incident, or who may be able to provide any other information which can assist the investigation, should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au
