“MOMENTUM” is an extraordinary exhibition showcasing works by women sculptors in Canberra and explores their underlying creative motivations.
The artists include: Jan Brown, S.A.Adair, Rachel Bowak, Jacqueline Bradley, Heather Brenchley, Chloe Bussenschutt, Michelle Day, Mary Kayser, Elizabeth Kelly, Dianne Libke, Saara March, Heika Qualitz, Ellyn Rose, Victoria Royds, Tracey Sarsfield, Sally Simpson, Wendy Teakel and Fiona Veikkanen,
They present a broad range of approaches to making within the discipline of sculpture including cast bronze, soft sculpture, found and assembled objects and abstract pieces suspended in space.
The exhibition includes artists who have just left art school, emerging artists, artists who have established and nationally recognised practices and some who are retired, such as Jan Brown, one of Canberra’s most eminent artists.
“Momentum,” at Belconnen Arts Centre, 10:00am – 5:00pm until Sunday, April 14.
