Send us your naff gifts, says Red Cross

Sarah_HighResRED Cross is urging Australians to re-gift unwanted Christmas presents to one of its shops.

Last year, research by eBay and Gumtree revealed that Australians received more than 16 million unwanted gifts.

“Red Cross retail shops rely on donations of clothing, bric-a-brac and homewares and we are currently in desperate need of quality donations,” said Olivia Cozzolino, Australian Red Cross retail general manager.

“Often at this time of year people do a bit of a clean out to fit in all their new gifts and purchases, so it’s the perfect time to remind people to donate any of those hidden treasures that have been stashed in the back of the wardrobe. Proceeds from all sales go towards our work helping improve the lives of vulnerable people in Australia and abroad.”

Donations can be delivered to any Red Cross store during opening hours. The stores cannot accept electrical items or mattresses.

For your nearest Red Cross shop, visit redcross.org.au/stores or call 1800 339888.
