A 45-year-old Red Hill man was caught drink-driving for the sixth time yesterday, with a blood-alcohol level more than five times the normal legal limit.

Police-afp-cops-0021-175x175Around 11.30am yesterday, police were flagged down by a motorist in Red Hill who reported seeing a white utility swerving and driving recklessly near the local shops.

Police located the vehicle and breath tested the driver, whose license was already disqualified from a previous drink-driving offence.

The driver tested positive for alcohol and was taken to Woden Police Station where his blood-alcohol level was tested at 0.267.

As well as having a disqualified licence, police say the man was classified a Special Driver, making him subject to a Blood Alcohol Concentration limit of 0.00.

He has been convicted five times for previous drink-driving offences, the most recent being in September this year.

Due to his level of intoxication and disqualified licence, the man was arrested and transported to the ACT Watch House.

He was expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning.
