A young driver who fled from police just after midnight last night was found hiding inside a home recycling bin.
Police officers activated their emergency lights and siren after seeing the 20-year-old Braddon man driving at high speed along Belconnen Way in a white Nissan Tiida at about 12.10am.
The man accelerated away onto Kingsford Smith Drive and out of sight of the police, leaving the Nissan mounted on a gutter beside Dolling Crescent, Flynn.
Police searched the area and found the man inside a domestic recycling bin. He was identified as the driver of the speeding car and taken into custody.
He was later released, and will appear in ACT Magistrates court at a later date.
