Although WIN claimed the largest share of Canberra’s television viewers thanks to Origin, drawing more than 90,000, ratings dropped 17.5 per cent compared to the series opener, with over 37,000 switching on ABC to watch the spill unfold.
With game three to be the series decider, WIN’s audience is expected to recover next week.
Meanwhile, the audience for the second test match between the Lions and the Wallabies last Saturday grew by 25 per cent, and helped Southern Cross Ten grow by 1 per cent for total audience during Peak Viewing.
Renovation programs are still rating high with Canberra audiences, with “House Rules” and “The Block: Sky High” securing three episodes apiece within the top 12 programs. On the other hand, Ten’s cooking show “Masterchef” has struggled to reach the same audience as Prime and WIN’s renovation shows.
Overall, the biggest changes last week was WIN growing 2 per cent during peak viewing, and the ABC and Southern Cross Ten growing 1 per cent and 1.5 per cent respectively.
