Tyres fry in Summernats’ world-record burnout video

SIXTY-NINE cars broke the Guinness World Record for a simultaneous burnout at Summernats on January 4.
Supernats have released a video of the event depicting a “staggering blanket of smoke” that, they say, could be seen from the other side of Canberra.

As the smoke cleared, the record was confirmed by Guinness World Records official Chris Sheedy to a roaring crowd of more than 10,000 patrons.

Drivers came from all across Australia to fry their tyres together in this historic event, some traveling thousands of kilometres from WA and Northern Queensland to take part in the record attempt.
