Survey gives voice to people with disabilities

RESEARCHERS from Deakin University need ACT residents with disabilities to tell them all about other people’s negative attitudes towards their disability.

Sponsored by Victorian disability services provider Scope, the national online survey allows people with a disability to voice their concerns about issues in society and, it is hoped, influence government policy.

The project has been named the “Scope 1 in 4 Poll” because disability affects one in every four Australians, either directly indirectly, or as in the case of carers. The current survey is the second in a series of national polls on current social issues.

The survey is at 1in4pollaustralia.com. For more information, call the Scope 1 in 4 Poll office at Deakin University on 03 9244 6705.
