Taxi driver ran down passenger

A 26-year-old taxi driver has been arrested by police for a hit and run in Evatt on Friday night. 

The man, from Gungahlin, ran down his passenger and trapped him under the vehicle before speeding off in Evatt on Friday night.

The victim was taken to The Canberra Hospital. He suffered serious injuries but is in a stable condition.

The 26-year-old driver will face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow, charged with intentionally inflict grievous bodily harm.

Police will be opposing bail.
