Young women ‘involved’ in statue theft

POLICE are asking for the public to help identify two young women after the ‘fat men’ statue in Civic was vandalised yet again on Sunday morning.

According to a police statement, the two women pictured “were involved in the theft” of the smallest ‘fat man’ from the statue called “On the Staircase” in Petrie Plaza, at about 12.30am on Sunday morning.

Anyone with information that could help police identify the two women, or anyone who witnessed the property damage can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or by going to act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
