ACTEW hit by unplanned power outage

SUBURBS in Weston Creek were left without power this afternoon, after ActewAGL experienced an unplanned outage.

The power outage included the ACTEW Water office, which is located on Mt Stromlo.

A total of twelve suburbs lost power at about 2.40pm, leaving 1050 Canberrans without electricity.

Power is expected to be restored to the suburbs by 5pm on Friday and ActewAGL crews are working to fix the problem.

Areas without power are:

  • Coombs
  • Cotter Road
  • Cotter Reserve
  • Duffy
  • Holder
  • Mount McDonald
  • Mount Stromlo
  • Pierces Creek
  • Stromlo Settlement
  • Uriarra Forest
  • Weston
  • Wright
