Alleged Belconnen groper to face the Children’s Court

police

ACT Policing has arrested a young person following a number of incidents relating to a young man groping and exposing himself to women in the north side of Canberra.

About 5.20pm yesterday evening (Monday 28 April), a girl was out walking her dog in Evatt when she was approached by a male who pulled his pants down and exposed himself to her. The male has attempted to reach out to the girl without success, before she has screamed and fled the area.

Police attended the scene and acting upon information received, police obtained and executed a search warrant on a home in Canberra’s north.

A young male was subsequently arrested and charged with committing an act of indecency.

He will face the ACT Children’s Court this morning and police will oppose bail.

Police believe the incident to be linked to four similar incidents across the weekend (April 26-27).

Investigations are ongoing.
