Alleged carjacker hauled in from Dubbo

POLICE from Canberra arrested a 19-year-old man in Dubbo yesterday and accused him of an attempted carjacking in Belconnen last October.

Police-afp-cops-9720-400x266The Dubbo man allegedly approached a woman from behind, threatened her with a knife and demanded her keys, near the Magpies Sports Club on Hardwick Crescent, Holt, on October 26.

Police say he tried to get into the victim’s car but did not succeed and was chased away by several bystanders.

The man was scheduled to face charges over the aggravated robbery in ACT Supreme Court this morning and police planned to oppose bail.
