Arts grants applications open

CALLING all Canberra artists: it’s time to apply for project funding once more.

Funding grants of up to $40,000 are available for creative arts projects under the ACT Arts Fund 2015 Project Funding round.

ACT Arts Minister Joy Burch describes as “amazing” some of projects supported by such grants, adding, “The fund has been used to develop digital stories told by people with a disability, manage a vending machine for ‘zines’, help stage a musical theatre production and edit a time-travel novel.” Project funding is open to ACT artists, groups and organisations to undertake one-off arts activities in 2015 and aims to support the development of artists at all stages of their careers, including emerging, developing and established artists.

It is, of course, quite different from the operation funding which goes to larger ‘key’ arts organisations to help them function year-round.

Full applications must be made online and close at 5pm on June 27. For more information visit arts.act.gov.au
