ASIO tearing down their fence

asio fence comes down

SOME might find it odd that a supposedly secret intelligence organisation has built itself a vast and prominent palace on Parkes Way overlooking Lake Burley Griffin.

But after significant delays the grandly named Ben Chifley Building is losing its barbed wire construction fence.

We understand ASIO won’t be moving in until next year, but the building is now being managed by Finance.

Re: ASIO’s Secret Intelligence Building on Parkes Way.

For a building that has been built to meet national security needs now and in the future, it seems this whole exercise has been handled with anything but intelligence. Will we the tax payers ever get to know the final cost of this grandiose, secret construction including the ‘here one moment gone the next’ barbed wire surround?

Signed:
A concerned Taxpayer.
