Attempted abduction of 8 year old boy in Nicholls

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses following the report of an attempted abduction of an eight-year-old boy in Nicholls this morning (Tuesday, 12 August).

About 8.30am, the boy was walking along Kelleway Avenue to his school (Gold Creek Primary) when he was approached by a man in a blue sedan. The man told the boy to get in the car and that he would drop him off at school.

The boy ran from the vehicle and heard the man exit the car and chase after him. The boy managed to run to school where he informed school staff who have alerted Police.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
