Barr to bar with 200 rums

THE well-connected owners of a new bar on the Kingston Foreshore inveigled Treasurer Andrew Barr and former Senator Gary Humphries to officially open the establishment on Tuesday night.

The Rum Bar overlooks Canberra’s newest marina and is owned by Leigh Barnett and the former owner of The George Harcourt Inn, Gil Miller.

The pair also welcomed Federal Labor MP Andrew Leigh and the man who replaced Mr Humphries last year as Liberal Senator for the ACT, Zed Seselja, to the opening at 7pm, along with other community and business leaders.

The Rum Bar and boasts an extensive collection of more than 200 rums from around the world.
