The Arboretum has welcomed the new weekday and weekend bus routes that will service it under ACTION’s Network 14 which starts on Monday.

“The inclusion of bus services seven days a week to the Arboretum will significantly improve access for visitors,” said Stephen Alegria, General Manager, National Arboretum Canberra.

“From next week you will be able to catch route 81 on weekdays and route 981 on weekends and public holidays, with each route servicing the Arboretum five times a day.

“These bus services will depart from the City Bus Station and run to the Village Centre at 90 minute intervals. It will be a great way for people, including tourists, to visit the attraction.

“Route 81’s first morning service will depart the City Bus Station at 10.20 am and its last service will depart the Arboretum at 5.20 pm, and route 981’s first service will depart at 10.19 am with its last service departing at 5.09 pm.

“Both routes will also service the National Zoo and Aquarium, Black Mountain Tower and the Australian National Botanic Gardens, with the Arboretum the second stop on the journey.”
