Big Calwell weed bust

ACT Policing seized several mature cannabis plants from a residence in Calwell during a search warrant earlier this morning (Tuesday 8 March).

A 25-year-old Calwell man is assisting ACT Policing with enquiries after 22 mature cannabis plants were found in and around his home.

About 6am, General Duties from Tuggeranong Patrol police executed a search warrant on the residence. Police located and seized 16 large plants, seedlings, dried cannabis and hydroponic equipment in a back room of the residence and a further six cannabis plants in a greenhouse in the backyard of the property.

Tuggeranong Patrol officers are continuing investigations into the matter. AFP Forensics Services attended and examined the residence as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police urge anyone who may have information regarding drug manufacture or distribution to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
