Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Neil Simon, “They’re Playing Our Song” is based on the real-life relationship of composer Marvin Hamlisch and lyricist Carole Bayer Sager.

In the show, the semi-fictional Vernon Gersch invites Sonia Walsk to his luxury Manhattan apartment and the meeting uncovers two very different personalities – but they click.

Good news for showbiz lovers is that the music is by Hamlisch (“A Chorus Line”, “The Way We Were”) and lyrics by Bayer Sager (“That’s What Friends Are For”, “Don’t Cry Out Loud”).

This production is by the touring company, HIT Productions and reprises the 2013 tour. Starring Scott Irwin from “Hairspray” and Les Misérables as Vernon and Teagan Wouters from “Legally Blonde the Musical” as Sonia, the show features songs like “I Still Believe in Love”, “If He Really Knew Me,” and “They’re Playing Our Song”.

“They’re Playing Our Song”, at The Q, Queanbeyan Performing Art Centre, March 28 -April 5. Bookings to theq.net.au and 6285 6290.
