Brown water in Deakin next week

ACTEW Water is undertaking necessary work in the Deakin area next week (Tuesday morning 22 April) which may result in temporary discolouration of water during the morning.

The work will be undertaken at the Upper Red Hill Reservoir, and ACTEW’s modeling indicates that the work may result in a temporary risk of discolouration in Empire Circuit, Northcote Crescent and Gawler Crescent in Deakin.

While it is difficult to predict to what degree the water will be affected, ACTEW Water advises that attempting to flush the discoloured water will not assist. If customers experience ongoing discolouration during the afternoon, please contact the ACTEW Water customer helpline on 6248 3111.

Customers are advised not to use washing machines and dishwashers during this period of possible water discolouration, as it may stain clothing or clog filters.

ACTEW Water would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our customers in the Deakin area for any short term inconvenience this important work may cause.
