The first school in the new Molonglo Valley development, the primary school and a preschool will cater for a total of 712 students between them, starting from 2016.

Minister for Education and Training Joy Burch says the ACT Government is fulfilling an election promise by allocating the funding to “kickstart” construction of the new school.

“With 55,000 people expected to move into Molonglo over the next 30 years, the Government is building the vital infrastructure that our new communities will need,” says Ms Burch.

Construction is expected to begin in mid-2014.

“The colour scheme reflects the region’s recent history with silver, grey and black accents inspired by the 2003 bushfires, and bright green to show regeneration and re-growth,” Ms Burch adds.
