Calling all choral music lovers: Tuesday concert

YARRALUMLA Uniting Church is playing host this Tuesday to an evening of fine choral music, featuring the Townsville Grammar School Choir.

The choir, which is touring under the aegis of ACFEA Tour Consultants, is conducted and directed by Samuel Blatch. The assistant conductor and accompanist will be Rachel Cairns and the assistant conductor will be Laura Tomlin.

The Grammar School is well known for its ambitious musical programs, exemplified by two of its largest ensembles, the Grammar Singers and the Symphony Orchestra. They also have a senior guitar ensemble, a clarinet ensemble, a flute ensemble, chamber strings, a concert band and a big band, though these are not touring to Canberra.

The proceeds of the concert will go to Uniting Care’s Early Morning Centre and Safe Shelter.

An Evening of Fine Choral Music, At Yarralumla Uniting Church, Denman Street, Yarralumla, 7pm, Tuesday, June 24. Admission by gold coin donation.
