Canberra murder: police search Grafton home

POLICE executed a search warrant at a rural property near Grafton in Northern NSW last week in relation to the murder of Canberra man Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber.

Enquiries into the homicide led Criminal Investigations detectives to the property on Thursday where they conducted a thorough search, which included a number of campsites and dams.

Several items were seized and will be submitted for forensic testing.

Police searched the property with the assistance of Specialist Response Group Search and Rescue, police divers, NSW State Emergency Service, AFP Forensics and NSW Police.

Mr Sofer-Schreiber was last seen on Boxing Day but was found dead the following day at his home in Lyneham.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have been in contact with Mr Sofer-Schreiber prior to his death, or who may have further information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
