Canberra Philharmonic Society has been basking in the glory of good reviews for “Cabaret,” but just look at the flyer for their big 2015 show, “Evita.”
Philo says the performance rights to the famous Lloyd-Webber musical have not been released to amateurs in 20 years, so it’s pretty chuffed at getting them. The show will be directed by Jim McMullen.
But alas and alack, the run is scheduled to open in March 2015. Rings a bell? It’s the same month as Free Rain’s planned “Mary Poppins”.
When, we ask, will Canberra arts organisations start talking to one another?
