Consultation opens on bus layovers

action bus

SIMON Corbell has announced draft variations to make way for new bus layover facilities.

“Bus layovers play a vital part in the existing bus network by increasing efficiencies and providing facilities for our bus drivers to rest in-between routes – which saves both fuel and increases the drivers’ health and wellbeing,” Simon said.

The two layovers are planned for Phillip and Civic:

  • Draft variation 325 to the Territory Plan proposes two key changes to rezone the south-eastern corner of Phillip Oval (block 13, section 23) to allow construction of the bus layover in the future and to incorporate block 14, section 23 Phillip into the oval’s current PRZ2 (Restricted Access Recreation Zone) zoning
  • Draft variation 309 to the Territory Plan proposes the rezoning of part of a block of land in Turner to allow a facility to be developed on part block 8, section 25 Turner.

Draft Variations can be found on the ACTPLA website.
