JOY Burch has donned fetching safety gear to get work started on construction on the new $47 million Coombs primary school.

“The school will open in time for the 2016 school year and will cater for up to 720 preschool and primary school students predominantly from the suburbs of Coombs and Wright,” Joy said.

55,00 people are expected to move into the area in the next 30 years.

“Joss Construction is delivering the project using a Design Construct Maintain methodology, undertaking the design and construction of the project and then the longer term maintenance, providing improved value for money for the project and the Territory.

“The school will feature learning spaces for preschool to year 6 students. It will also include specific facilities for music, curriculum enrichment programs such as environmental science and cooking, a resource centre, school administration, canteen, out of hours school care facilities, and outdoor learning and play areas.
