AN unlicensed 21-year-old Downer man and a 17-year-old Kaleen girl have been arrested after leading police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle yesterday afternoon.
Around 3.06pm police attempted a traffic stop on a grey Hyundai Santa Fe matching the description of a stolen vehicle, but the driver failed to stop and a pursuit initiated through streets of Lyneham and O’Connor.
The pursuit ended after eight minutes when the stolen car came to a stop.
Police arrested the unlicensed driver and passenger and they were taken to a City Station where the driver undertook alcohol and drug screening tests.
The driver was charged with several offences including driving a motor vehicle without consent, furious and reckless driving, and driving unlicensed.
He will face court at a later date.
The juvenile girl was charged with ride/drive motor vehicle without consent and unlawful possession of stolen property. She will face the Children’s Court at a later date.
