Crime continues to drop

SIMON Corbell is celebrating an ongoing fall in crime rates.

“Today the 2014 ACT Criminal Justice Statistical Profile was tabled in the Legislative Assembly and revealed a considerable drop from 2012-13 to 2013,” Simon said.

Improvements included

    • Motor vehicle thefts down 23 per

    • Property damage and environmental pollution

    • Robbery down 12 per cent

    • Assaults down 10 per cent

    • Theft and related offences down 8

    • Sexual assaults down 7 per cent

    • Burglary/break and enter offences down 4 per cent.

• A 16.5 percent decrease in alcohol related violence across the ACT.
