Curtin burn today

controlled burn

ACT Parks and Conservation Service advises that, weather permitting, a controlled burn will be conducted today, Wednesday 6 August 2014, at a wood and debris pile north of Heysen Street, Curtin. The objective of the burn is to reduce the hazard to horses by removing large woody debris.

Like in all controlled burns, safety will be of paramount importance. Experienced Parks fire managers, supported by trained fire-fighters, will conduct the burning operations.

Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.
