MACGREGOR’S Tommy & Me Cafe is struggling with a derelict scout hall across the road playing host to asbestos and unsavoury youth.

When leasing the property at Chalmers Place Macgregor Michelle & Gabriel Musiello had been assured that the old derelict, asbestos filled, scout hall across from their café would be pulled down.

“Trying to build a family friendly, community café in the area is hard when your windows and balcony face such a rundown eye sore, before we signed the lease we saw a notification from the ACT Government saying the building was going to be demolished, however we are still waiting.” Michelle says.

“we see kids come and go from the building, which is heart breaking because It is full of asbestos and I hate to think what is inside the building’

CCTV showed the suspected culprit of a recent burglary heading over to the building either to stash the stolen goods to use hall as an escape alley.

“Whatever the case- it needs to be pulled down as soon as possible, so business owners can feel comfortable trading in the area and building our businesses.”
