The sub-acute medical facility, at UC’s Bruce campus, is expected to be completed by 2018.

Chief Minister Katy Gallagher says the ACT government allocated $8.2 million dollars for the planning and forward design work in their latest budget, and will release a draft Service Delivery Plan for public consultation in the coming months.

“The preliminary sketch plans will give the community a first look at the proposed design of the new hospital and an opportunity to provide their feedback. “We will also determine the delivery model for the project, ensuring the best value for money in providing the facility,” Ms Gallagher said.

University of Canberra Vice Chancellor Stephen Parker says the hospital will attract more students, world class academics and more research dollars to Canberra, “creating jobs, boosting the economy and leading to better treatments for patients.”
