Drug busts in Southern Canberra

A 43-year-old Bonython man has been charged with drug offences following the execution of a search warrant on his two premises and vehicles on (Monday, August 4).

Around 6.40pm Tuggeranong Response Crime detectives observed the Bonython man make an illicit drug transaction with a 38-year-old woman in Phillip.

Detectives arrested both persons and subsequent searches located illicit substances suspected to be Heroin and Methylamphetamine.

With the assistance of AFP K9, search warrants were executed on the Bonython man’s two vehicles and his premises in Gordon and Bonython where further illicit drugs were seized.

The man was taken to the ACT Watch House where he was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Drug.

He will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court later today where police will be opposing bail.

The 38-year-old woman, who made admissions to purchasing illicit drugs, will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
